DESCRIPTION
Situated on
Deck 1 behind the bridge, this spacious office is the captain's work room.
It is commonly called the "Ready Room" or often the CO's office.
Equipment and furniture includes formal seating for four, as well as sofas for
more relaxed lolling. A standard light replicator for replicating food or
small equipment. On the captain's desk is a comfortable view LCARS console, and
the desktop can switch to be a full access control console, capable of
performing all ship functions from navigation to firing torpedoes. There
are 3 doors; one leading to the bridge, one to the conference room, and one to
the captain's personal lavatories. The office is oval-shaped, with four
large windows facing the wall with the door to the bridge.
Given this room's strategic and administrative
importance, it is one of the most armored places on the ship. With a very
thick hull layer, triple shielding, and an ablative coating, it is one of the
safest places on the ship to be.
