The Thunderchild heads to
Romulus on a diplomatic representation mission. But things get
more complicated and Captain Ramius decides to resign from Starfleet
and stay on Romulus. |

Captain Gatewood leads the
Thunderchild, which has been reclassified as an S&R ship, on his
first mission as captain to Vandam 6, where away teams from the USS
Nordique are trapped in ancient underground tunneling. But as
Thunderchild Search and Rescue teams descend underground, they
encounter dangers and lose and strange patterns in the rocks which
block transport and sensor activity. After over a week of intensive
searching, 17 of 20 missing crewmembers are recovered alive, but a
TC crewman has been lost in the process and the XO was injured and
falls into a coma. The Thunderchild leaves the Vandam system
for some well earned rest after the difficult rescue mission. |

| VENZIANO'S CASINO WORLD |
Veneziano's Casino World
is an isolated yet vibrant recreation center near the
Romulan-Federation border. The crew is supposed to be on
vacation, but ends up rescuing the Captain and a Romulan
intelligence officer, who got involved in investigating an undercover
slave-trade operation. The slave-trade operation
is successfully shut down and crew are recovered, but not before the Captain suffers a serious phaser wound to his left calf, which requires several weeks to fully recover from. |

| A MATTER OF TRUST |
USS THUNDERCHILD concluded this mission in APRIL 2000- the ship passed
through three different star systems to reach a fourth, and rescued a
Prisoner Transport, the PTS BRUBAKER, that was trapped in a decaying
orbit of a uninhabitable gas giant. The BRUBAKER powerless, her crew
with nowhere to go and no means of escape, the lives of the crew and
prisoners aboard the Brubaker were dependent on the Thunderchild
navigating the hazards between them and their mission in time to save
all men and machine. Thunderchild reached the Brubaker in time to save
the Brubaker crew but not all of the prisoners and with limited time
available the Brubaker itself could not be saved.
Early in this mission,
the Thunderchild received a new XO, the Romulan intelligence officer introduced in the previous mission, assigned as an exchange officer,
Commander Jalidar Varell. The personal lives of some of the crew became
complicated, particularly the XO, a-CMO and the Captain's, as the a-CMO,
who was the lover of the CO, discovered the XO was pregnant with the
CO's child, and wound up transferring off the ship, accepting a promotion to CMO of the USS Prometheus in Silver Fleet.

| EARTH IN THE TWO-FIVE (Shore Leave) |
USS THUNDERCHILD concluded this mission in November 2000- the ship was sent to Utopia Planetia Shipyards for an eight week refit, and the crew spent the first seven weeks
getting involved in various adventures on Earth, showing a side of life on Earth in the 25th Century seldom seen. The crew returned to Utopia on the 50th day of the refit, for a test run the following day, one week before the refit is schedueled to be complete.

| THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED |
USS THUNDERCHILD began this mission in December 2000- The crew returned to Utopia on the 50th day of the refit, and headed out on the ship on the 51st day, for a test of the impulse engines. 3 million kilometers from Earth, the ship encountered a brand new anomalous energy source which ejected them from the known universe and into the unknown.
