Transferred to USS Khitomer upon destruction of Pacific.  Achieved the rank 
of Lieutenant and moved up to assistant security chief.  Then served on Lexington 
for four years.

Posted to USS Odyssey and was promoted to Lt. Cmdr., but remained assistant 
security chief.  Served a little over one year before notification of her 
transfer to USS Thunderchild. 

2403: First assignment USS Pacific as security officer

2405: Transfer to USS Khitomer

2406: Serves on USS Lexington four years

2410: Posts to USS Odyssey as assistant Chief of Security, promoted to Lt. Commander.

HISTORY: 
 

Serena has always had to work harder and smarter in her efforts at becoming security chief.  It always seems that when the 
promotions came up, she was always the bridesmaid and never the bride.  Most of her contemporaries from the Academy had achieved chief status years before her, but she somehow managed not to become bitter over it, because she loved being in security in any capacity.  Teamwork was the thing, not rank or title.

"Serena, for the most part, has an "oh, what the heck" attitude.  It takes a whole lot to either get her mad or try her patience, but when it happens, people generally know that it's not a good thing to do twice.  Pressure doesn't get to her and she rarely realizes she's tired until she lies down and proceeds to sleep for a full day. 

"Serena has had a very normal childhood, with few exposures to the death of someone close to her.   She will avoid killing at all costs, yet seems to have an instinct for when it is unavoidable and deals with it accordingly.  Serena is very open and speaks her mind readily, which sometimes makes her wonder if that's why she's been passed over for promotion so many times. "
 

HOBBIES: Serena enjoys 14th century holodeck adventures, loves to swim and is interested in anything she hasn't yet done before.  She tends to be extremely passionate about all her interests, until she wrings the life out of them and has to look for more interesting hobbies.

BACKGROUND MATERIAL:

Serena McKay has always tried to be the perfect Starfleet officer, not for anyone's else's attention, but because she takes 
pride in doing a good job and doing it well.  There is still a stigma attached with a woman getting appointed as chief of security, and she usually deals with any hesitance or disbelief being spouted off by throwing the spouter over her shoulder. 

Serena really doesn't help her cause, because in off-duty hours, she likes to play the damsel in distress and admits succumbing easily to whatever small romantic gestures can be made aboard a starship.  Flowers play an important role in her life, and her quarters are always filled with them.  They remind her that there is always hope, and that life continues, despite the pressures 
of the day.
