 BACKGROUND MATERIAL:

Seilan grew up on Vulcan.  Her mother was killed at Wolf 359, resisting assimilation from the Borg.  While she is a strong telepath, she  prefers to use her intelligence, rather than her telepathy, to solve a problem.  At the urging of her father, Seikor, she studied several years for the ritual kolin'ahr, the Vulcan method for purging all emotion.  She did not succeed.  She subsequently applied for the Vulcan Academy of the Sciences, where she was accepted and studied for one year before applying to Starfleet
Academy.

Due in part to her strong telepathy, she has studied mind diseases. In her third year at the Academy, she interned for a semester on Betazed at the Betazed Academy of Thought.  There, she was apprenticed as a  mind-healer. After a semester of intense study, she passed the examination toward becoming a licensed mind-healer.

At the Academy, she majored in Command, and double-minored in  Medical/Sciences. Thus, she is qualified for several billets on a ship: any Command post, Medical Officer, Science Officer, or Counselor. After her mother's death, her father began searching for a new  soul-mate; giving Seilan many new siblings.  He has yet to settle down on any
one person, which he claims is logical because the bond is for life.  He currently has custody of all of his children except k'Seir.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE:

Seilan attempts to adhere to Vulcan logic but does not always succeed. However, she has deemed that logical since she is not full Vulcan, and thus, does not worry about slips. She dislikes it when other telepathic species or one of her siblings tries to scan her mind, and can be extremely stubborn on the issue of privacy.  She has no match when it comes to debating philosophy or logic.  Her biggest weakness is in Engineering; she has a difficult time with physics.  She is familiar with the Vulcan side of her heritage, but wants to find out more about the Ullian side.

She was at one time a bond-mate of Seryn of Vulcan; then she was known as T'Leya.  However, during his first pon farr, she gained her freedom through the ritual kal-i-fee.  Afterward, she changed her name back to her pre-bonded name: Seilan, and also took on her mother's name, t'Sevren.
