BACKGROUND MATERIAL
     Gabriel's family has traditionally served for Starfleet. His grandfather is a human Admiral, and both his parents are now retired from their service together on the USS Hero, on which Gabriel was born. He attended the Daystorm Institute in 2406, and graduated with very distinguishing honors.  He decided to put his skill and knowledge to good use, and to follow family tradition by joining Starfleet in 2410.
